ROUNDHILL SHEPHERD HUTS

Southdowns Glamping

On the year 2008, siblings Louise and Paul Adams decided to build a shepherd's hut. After researching the traditional architecture, Paul designed and built their first hut. With Louise's unique interior design, it hit them that they had built something very special. Following a gut instinct, they decided they'd build another to try and sell it. On the cold and snow-laden January of 2009, questioning the reality of the decision, they scraped away the ice on the driveway of their fathers property and paul began building hut number two. Shortly after finishing the build, it was taken to a rural garden show - following support and success at the event, it sold! This was the light-bulb moment for both brother and sister; Paul decided to quit his job and dedicate himself to building Shepherd Huts full time, with the help of family support. Though they'd never have thought it, Louise's creative touch and sourcing of beautiful old materials coupled with Pauls building skills and artistic nature, evolved into Roundhill Shepherd Huts. Now, 8 years on, Roundhill are one of the most successfull shepherd hut producers in the country. Their customer range has been vast and varied, with every single hut built with a totally unique design. Their huts have been showcased in many festivals and fairs, including Floral Fringe, Farm Diversification (Olympia, London), North Chapel Steam Show and Weald and Downland events.

As roundhill grew in success, Louise and Paul engaged in the desire to rent out their own huts. With Pauls artwork shaping the ceiling of the huts, doubled with Louise's interior decorating, the huts have an entirely unique atmosphere. South Downs Glamping has evolved through a passion for the unbeatable experience inside a shepherd hut, alongside their extensive knowlegde on the trade.
